Too cute.

Here are two rough images of my pendants that are coming along. I'm excited to work on the third pendant that will be a part of this series. It will be a good collection.

Happy Friday!

It has been a week of great press and mentions on the Internet! My signet rings have caught the attention of many viewers through wonderful blogs and Pinterest. I've noticed that my black and white necklace has become a major hit Pinterest. Because of all this, my etsy shop views have significantly increased. What a week! It makes me really happy to see all this positive response.

Here are the lovely posts:

silver objects and beads

new work

This pendant isn't fully realized. I am still thinking about adding more to the back of the piece. I am not too happy with the weight of it, a bit lighter than what I would like. But I like the placement of the stones and beads right now.

another collection

Photobucket
Another series of gifts from Melissa. This collection was from last year. I wanted to compare these natural beads from the new ones she found for me. So refreshing to look at old things.

I'm also beginning to collect images of items organized well and organization methods on my pinterest board. Show me how you organize.

natural beads

While Melissa visited the west coast, she found these natural beads for me. What a great studiomate. It is a nice, inspiring collection.

Are you collecting anything?

I love them both.

January happenings

Melissa and I have been teaching an afternoon and evening ring making workshop. It feels nice to have our own space to conduct the class.

We assembled our own table for the class. It is such a great table

I wish my camera was able to capture the entire studio space. So many cool additions to the space.
Melissa's spot is coming together really well. Her progress below.

Lately I have been on Pinterest a lot, gathering my visual inspiration. I joined this site a few months ago, but have only begun to really spend of time on it the last two weeks. If you are not on this site, I highly recommend it. It is a place to search for or collect all your virtual inspiration- you can select images from the web or the site itself, and organize it by boards. You can then share those images with your followers, friends and family. The great thing for me is the format of the site, all the images laid out side by side, making it easier to connect all my interests together. You can also have a group board where two or more people can add to the board. That is what Melissa and I had done when we were beginning to brainstorm how our studio space would come together- adding images of tools we liked and spaces we found inspiring. I like my new collection of images on all my boards. I can't wait to experiment into my next series of jewelry.

If you join Pinterest, let me know. I want to see what you're pinning!

silver rings

Photobucket
Started the year by creating these new pieces, updating my etsy shop, and scheduling new classes for The Bloomfield School. I've been enjoying the process of carving different shapes in wax. I'm getting really into signet rings.

Beginning the new year

2012. I am officially in a new studio space with Melissa. The nice high ceiling makes it much more spacious and having more room already makes it really comfortable to work in. We're still in the same building, just two floors up! That made the move slightly less stressful you can say. Here is an image of how I have transitioned my working setup. From old to new:

I have a longer desk and more shelving units so I can better layout work and store all my supplies.

Still needs more organizing, but below is another view of our new space and the cozy space Melissa has created for herself.

We also have a nice view of both Manhattan and downtown Brooklyn.

So looking forward to working in here all the time and seeing what 2012 has in store for me.
In the span of two days, Melissa and I moved all our belongings upstairs. Enjoy the clip of how it came together.
